What You Will Do
Southern Cross is hiring NOW for a full-time position that includes surveying natural gas pipeline driving our Advanced Mobile Leak Detection (AMLD) vehicle. Some comfort with technology and a willingness to learn in a technical environment is preferred. In this position you can expect to drive nightly typically 8 hours per day working 3rd shift (sundown - early AM)

Additionally, technicians will be cross-trained in the skill of traditional gas leak survey. Training is typically 4-5 weeks (paid), learning how to accurately detect and classify natural gas leaks, walking 5 or more miles per day, working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments ie: in and around vehicular traffic, residential and commercial environments, rural environments including: tall grass, uneven walking areas, fields, city sidewalks, alley ways and at times encountering dogs and wildlife.
Responsibilities & Duties
Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot technology as needed
Ability to drive in all weather conditions
Adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures
Physical Requirements:
Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carry a minimum of 20 lbs of equipment; be able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned; Observes and follows all company/client procedures; Possess excellent customer service/communication skills; Be available for occasional overtime (which may include weekends); Be comfortable using computers/technology

What You Will Earn
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour PLUS an automatic hourly increase of $.50 after 60 days of employment and 180 days of employment.
Signing Bonus: $1,000.00 signing bonus paid in two installments. The 1st installment of $300.00 will be disbursed after 180 days of employment and the 2nd installment of $700.00 will be paid out after one year of employment.
