FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Summary

The Air Quality Technician is responsible for the assessment, assembly, installation and service of IQAir air purification products and related HVAC solutions at customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Performs site assessments, installation and service of IQAir products and systems in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds customer's expectations
• Provides service at customer sites by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance
• Determines and implements the exact needs of the customer based on product/project specifications
• Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders including leadership, Project Managers, team members, customers, vendors and subcontractors
• Provide complete and accurate verbal and written project updates
• Effectively realizes issues of cost, time, quality and above all, client satisfaction
• Successfully plans, outlines objectives and directs activities of the day’s project from start to completion while adhering specifically to scope, time and budget constraints
• Applies critical thinking skills to identify solutions, troubleshoot and provide service
• Represents IQAir in a courteous, professional manner at all times
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in written form
• Recommends improvements to IQAir products, policies, processes and procedures
• Plan and prepare materials, tools and equipment for jobs
• Prepares job/site reports
• Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and travel to customer job sites as required. Some overnight stays required
• Drives company vehicles in a safe manner
• Performs other related duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in written form
• Associates Degree in Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 1–3 years of experience with commercial HVAC/R or related field
• General knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical a plus
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting and carrying up to 75lbs, climbing a ladder, accessing a crawl space, etc.
• Superior mechanical skills
• Prior experience with professional interaction with external customers, sub-contractors and vendors
• Intermediate skill in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
• Knowledge of Lead & Asbestos
• Knowledge of field safety practices
• Valid Driver’s License
• Safe driving record
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Ability to pass Department of Justice LiveScan background check
• Ability to type 40 wpm

• Development Track to Air Quality Technician II*

• 1 to 3 years of field experience
• When tested, can demonstrate:
• General HVAC knowledge
• General knowledge of electrical switch gear / basic wiring
• Simple plumbing skills
• GHS knowledge

• Holds the following certifications:
• OSHA 10
• HVAC
• Residential/Commercial HVAC System Performance
• Asbestos / Lead
• Hazmat Communication
• IAQ Certification – CRIE or CIE
• First Aid / CPR
• IQAir Residential and Commercial Product Knowledge

Other Requirements

May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities both in and outside the company to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.
