THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently recruiting for 2 Field Marketing Representatives, 1 targeting the US Pacific Northwest Region (Washington, Oregon, California & Idaho) & 1 targeting the US Mountain States Region (Colorado, Utah, Montana & Wyoming).

What You’ll Do: The Field Marketing Representative is responsible for driving sales & marketing support for WFP branded products in their designated region to create demand that can be funneled back to our key customers and ultimately increase sales for Western Forest Products. The Field Marketing Representative will provide customer support, marketing and branding support, marketing intelligence and lead generation for the inside sales team.

Who You Are: The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years relevant industry experience in a customer facing role. Post- secondary education in a related field would be an asset, as well as knowledge and experience at the builder level with knowledge of building codes and applications and an understanding of design and construction methodologies.

Work Environment: This role will work remotely from your home office, within the targeting region you are supporting, but will spend approximately 60 -70% of their time on the road, providing field marketing support to the Western Forest Product sales and marketing group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate and clearly articulate WFP value proposition to customers.
  • Establish, manage and maintain customer relationships by ensuring excellent service and follow-up and by learning and supporting the customers’ business.
  • Drive market awareness, education and branding for WRC and WFP branded products through target audience – ie. downstream customers, architects, associations, designers, influencers, developers.
  • Uncover and identify new product opportunities of scale, develop market opportunities,
  • Assist in the design and implementation of regional marketing programs which support corporate sales and marketing objectives.
  • Promote new and existing products to WFPs key customers, including distribution partners, downstream pro dealers, retail accounts and builders.
  • Provide competitive intelligence regarding products or programs in the marketplace, quantifying WFP’s market share and identifying opportunities and threats to our business.
  • Collect, data base and disseminate relevant market intelligence and customer information in support of the company’s enterprise CRM. Clearly identify product supply chains and sales channels and assist in the development of go to market strategies.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer product claims or complaints
  • Attend regional trade shows
  • Collaborate with inside sales staff and sales management to ensure sales and marketing objectives are achieved.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education And Experience

  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience preferably in customer facing role, especially in building products related field.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field would be an asset as would experience in a marketing / sales role within the wood products industry
  • Knowledge and experience at the builder level; knowledge of building codes and applications as well as an understanding of design and construction methodologies and building materials a definite asset.

Skills, Knowledge And Required Competencies

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, CRM, and relevant sales systems technology.
  • Solid planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Superior customer service orientation; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to set goals effectively and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.
