Responsible for providing feed sales, nutrition work and consulting services to producers in the areas of feed, animal health and livestock production. This position will provide product options supplied by MKC to fulfill the recommendations provided by their consulting service. This position will perform their job responsibilities in a manner to increase the cooperative’s market share and profit; improving the cooperative’s efficiency; providing above average customer service; and helping achieve the cooperative’s mission statement and goals. This position will work closely with the MKC feed mills for scheduling, the MKC feed purchasing manager, any location manager or MKC Vice President of Eastern Operations. This position’s overall objective is to provide a great customer experience while growing the MKC feed business.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability and willingness to sell services to customers,
• Good working knowledge of feed, livestock nutrition and animal health products offered by Purina and MKC.
• Good working knowledge of feed needs of Beef, Horse, Swine, Chickens and a number of common exotics
• General knowledge of grain contracting products and procedures.
• Ability to take feed/hay samples at the farm and interpret the results.
• Ability to effectively communicate in person to groups of people or to individuals, along with strong written communication skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate meetings and events.
• Organization and Analytical skills.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Ability to handle emotional customers and resolve complaints.
• Completes special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply common scientific, technical, and legal journals.

15. Ability to respond cordially to inquiries or complaints of customers, co-workers, or regulatory agencies.

• 
  Observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations; maintain equipment and facilities regularly; and follow housekeeping standards keeping facilities neat and clean. Attend all safety training that is applicable to your position.
• Promote and utilize MKC’s relationship with Countryside feeds and any other feed vendors as deemed appropriate by executive management.
• Work with MKC grain staff to support grain operations and origination.
• Work with Manhattan feed staff and all other MKC feed staff to support operations and sales of feed products.
• Grow MKC customer base by enhancing the profitability of your customers and ensuring no product problems result from services provided in your territory.
• Maintain knowledge of government regulations that affect your position.
• Maintain a positive attitude that promoted team work and a favorable image of Mid Kansas Coop.
• Work directly with Location Managers and feed mill operators to manage feed deliveries.
• Invoice all product deliveries promptly and accurately ensuring all sales tickets and cash receipts are turned in to the office daily and the customer gets a receipt.
• Complete all reports required by your manager in a timely manner.
• Enforce the credit policy of Mid Kansas Coop by making credit terms known to customers, not charging to customers on COD, not extending credit to customers not approved by the credit department, not authorizing customer charges that exceed set credit limits, and keeping your personal account current.
• Follow and support the safety policies of Mid Kansas Coop.
• Follow maintenance procedures for any company equipment you are using.
• Attend all product updates and service training classes assigned by your manager.
• Complete special projects assigned by your manager.
