San Mateo County Health’s, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services North County Adult Outpatient Clinic has a career opportunity in the heart of Daly City, for a Spanish Speaking Psychiatric Social Worker/Marriage and Family Therapist I/II to serve immigrants to first and second generation LatinX adults and other underserved multi-cultural, multi-ethnic clients facing the largest barriers to services and support every day. The clinic is located in Daly City’s government center, walking distance from Daly City BART and access to I-280.

Currently we have one Full-time Regular vacancy for a Spanish Speaking Psychiatric Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist in Daly City. Experienced clinicians and those looking to gain experience are encouraged to apply.

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist;
  • Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills;
  • Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities;
  • Experience/interest in providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness;
  • Experience/interest in delivering services to adults who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders;
  • Experience/interest in delivering services in specialty areas for adults and older adults and/or transitional age youth;
  • Excellent documentation skills: progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.;
  • Demonstrated expertise, skill and interest in working with a broad range of clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds, such as Latino, Pacific Islander, African American, and LGBTQ, and an ability to provide culturally appropriate and proficient services;
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with families, co-workers, other professionals, collaborative partners and the public;
  • Extensive knowledge of/interest in learning the available community resources within the County of San Mateo and its neighboring counties;
  • Experience/interest in using electronic health/medical record systems (e.g. AVATAR, SOARIAN)
  • Fluency in any of the threshold languages: Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) or Russian; and experience providing clinical services using bilingual skills.

Minimum qualifications include:

Licensure/Certification

  • LCSW, LMFT or Registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. An individual hired as an intern must become licensed within six years of Registration issued by the State of California.

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is a Master's degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or a closely related field.

SALARY:

Psychiatric Social Worker I/Marriage & Family Therapist I: $41.88 - $52.37 Hourly $87,110.40 - $108,929.60 Annually

Psychiatric Social Worker II/Marriage & Family Therapist II: $47.10 - $58.90 Hourly $97,968.00 - $122,512.00 Annually
