The Family Nurse Practitioner I collaborates with a multidisciplinary health team to deliver direct comprehensive care services and education to both well and/or ill patients. Under the direction of the Senior Nurse Practitioner, this position practices nursing within the guidelines of the department, the Institute and in accordance with the State of Maryland nurse practitioner regulations.
The Family Nurse Practitioner is granted specified professional staff privileges by the Kennedy Krieger Institute Medical Board that are reviewed annually.
This will be a full time position Outpatient Clinic 40 hours per week.
- Registered nurse licensure and certification as a nurse practitioner required by the State of Maryland.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from an approved organization by the Maryland State Board of Nursing, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
- Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and adults served by KKI.
- Clinical care focus is on the pediatric and adult population.
EDUCATION:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty.
- Completion of a nurse practitioner program approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years of related clinical nursing experience required.
