The Family Advocate is primarily responsible for coordinating family driven, youth guided services in the group home, advocating for child victims and their families, coordinating family support and visitation services, facilitating positive relationships with therapists, connecting youth to a healthy family resource, and coordinating sponsor family supports. Professional responsibilities include the following:

1. Assist Program Manager in professional direction and planning for optimal services

2. Support needs of positive public relations campaigns and interactive programs to increase awareness of services, connection to parents, and community support resources

3. Assist with daily service needs of Community Counseling Center at group home

4. Assist with assessments and records management for all new child victims

5. Assist with organization of client records, service plans and safety plans; compile accurate chart information ensuring goals are objective, measurable, and time limited

6. Serve as primary contact for resident family to navigate the treatment and recovery process and enhance positive outcomes for youth; track family involvement

7. Coordinate organization of family records and service goals to support youth outcomes through regular phone and visitation support with identified family members

8. Update family information and routine contacts in resident records

9. Coordinate family visits; assist with transportation and review of home environment on the first home pass. Explain program rules, visitation, and supervision requirements

10.Maintain oversight of appropriate protocols with law enforcement agencies to facilitate coordination of domestic violence intervention and crime victim services for children

11.Assist in building positive relationships with law enforcement, preventing aggression in youth, increasing calming activities and decreasing the need for police intervention calls

12.Lead debriefing activities for law enforcement calls; listen to information from youth and staff to clarify information, develop potential intervention, and follow through with training needs to optimize effective client care. Coordinate with Program Manager.

13.Monitor goals, progress, intervention and outcomes through quarterly case reviews

14.Coordinate family support services in accordance with agency standards; use a strengths based trauma informed approach for family care based on Six Core Strategies and use of Trust Based Relational Interventions in building family relationships

15.Provide consultation and parenting support for victims of domestic violence

16.Ensure accurate documentation of services in accordance with grant guidelines, ethical practices, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards

17.Monitor and maintain collection or records for required statistics, demographics, and data for grant reports. Ensure completion of all required reports; submit quarterly grant report to Program Manager for Family Advocacy services. Track data and activities to support youth and family goals to improve youth outcomes.

18.Serve as Child Advocacy Program connection in coordinating community support services

19. Demonstrate initiative in program development and services to meet client needs; host topic support trainings for youth and families as needed to enhance outcomes

20. Assist in developing evidenced informed practice and written programs for service delivery

21. Coordinate requested information for Child Protection Investigation Reports and mandatory reporting standards in coordination with Program Manager

22. Coordinate Sponsor Family and Mentor Program for youth who do not have family supports; connect youth to at least one positive adult support system to improve outcomes

23. Serve as Chair of Residential Services Committee for Quality Assurance; lead and implement client and family service standards. Maintain current documentation.

24. Assist in closure and maintenance of client records with recommended aftercare; contact former residents and families monthly to maintain treatment gains

25.Provide professional services, counseling, and crisis intervention at unusual hours; serve in rotation as on-call administrative staff for emergency client access

26.Assist the Chief Executive Officer, Child Advocacy Program Manager, and Program Director with responsibilities necessary to ensure optimal agency management; consult on client care. Report to Child Advocacy Program and Quality Assurance Program Manager.

27.Role model mature, empathetic, and responsible behavior in demonstrating appropriate social and emotional development as well as professional boundaries for clients

28.Maintain personal and professional development; attend seminars and conferences to enhance professional knowledge and maintain certifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24,000.00 - $34,000.00 per year
