Facility Technician Job at Wawona Frozen Foods
JOB SUMMARY:
Technician for facilities department with ability to handle mechanical needs required for the department’s equipment. Works in close communication with department lead and/or supervisor to ensure that the daily, weekly and monthly goals are met. Monitors systems to ensure proper operation and ensures that countermeasures are followed or developed to avoid any crises that can be derived.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements included in SQF policies and procedures, including Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, and GMP’s as well as meets all company corporate requirements related to quality and food safety programs. Employee is responsible to report Food Safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
2. Maintains a good attendance record to ensure that there is no interruption to production or services to our customers.
3. Works safely in accordance with company’s safety program requirements.
4. Wears all required personal protective equipment
5. Assigns or ensures that other employees in department have sufficient work and/or works with supervisor or manager
6. Basic ability to perform Total Productive Maintenance in any equipment that include but are not limited to repair or replacement of: Bearings, Bushings, Shafts, Gear Boxes, Greasing, Lubing, etc.
7. Intermediate ability to perform masonry and carpentry work, including but not limited to: concrete, wooden and other material barriers, repairing of walls, painting and flooring
8. Intermediate ability to develop, execute and troubleshoot plumbing working in the facility
9. Basic ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and develop proper counter measures.
10. Intermediate ability to troubleshoot pumps and other water transportation components
11. Inspects systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
12. Work as a team within department and with other departments.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Be able to communicate in English, by reading, speaking and writing.
2. Maintain good housekeeping practices and maintain shop clean of hazards.
3. Other duties may be assigned as required by position.
4. Be flexible and be available to work weekends, OT as required, and be able to work day, night and graveyard shift.
