Job Description — Facilities Technician
Apricot Lane Farms is a 234-acre farm in Moorpark, California, and home of The Biggest
Little Farm. With a team that makes the seemingly impossible possible, the farm
regeneratively grows more than 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and raises sheep,
cows, pigs, chickens and ducks with care and respect while working in harmony (or a
comfortable level of disharmony) within a dynamic ecosystem. We are looking for a talented
and reliable Facilities Technician. The Facilities Technician will oversee all aspects of
maintenance and upkeep of the infrastructure of the farm. Our ideal candidate will have
in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, basic tools, and appliances.
Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Performing repairs and maintenance: plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting
- Contacting and overseeing contractors when outside vendors as necessary
- Diagnosing maintenance issues and correcting them
- Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
- Running for supplies and tools
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct performance assessments of company appliances such as refrigerators,
- Heavy lifting and moving of farm equipment and supplies, as well as various office
- Support the farm's needs outside of all core responsibilities, including, but not limited
to: irrigation projects, supporting the needs of the orchards, building structures,
installing and repairing fencing, and addressing reasonable requests from Farm
Management
Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists., saws, drills, and wrenches
- Ability to work outside for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold)
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
- Other tasks as requested

Full-time position
- Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm
$20-24 / hour
