This individual will maintain and make basic repairs to the facilities and grounds.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
• Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Rakes and bags or burns leaves.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
• Spreads salt on public passage ways to prevent ice buildup.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. Paints fences and outbuildings.
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
• All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Specifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Uses hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaches with hands and arms. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, or crouching. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving with mechanized assistance up to 100 pounds.
