SteelFab is excited to be adding two full time Material Handler/Crane Operator to our 2nd shift. As part of the fabrication team, this position will be instrumental in producing product in a busy metal fabrication facility. Overtime will be available.

The precise combination of job tasks will vary depending on the Company’s production requirements and the specific instructions given by the shop supervision.

Material Handlers/Crane Operator must be able to perform the following tasks:

About the position:

This position is responsible for operating overhead crane and forklift to move and place materials for welding and fitting in the fabrication shop. Maintains and organizes materials in the shop and yard; tracks material that is incoming and outgoing.

The work of the Material Handler provides opportunities to promote as the worker gains skills. Steel Fab encourages continuous improvement and provides training environments and mentors for workers to grow skills and abilities.

Required Qualifications:

• Min 1 year Forklift experience
• Ability to work efficiently matching material to lists provided, storing and retrieving materials and keeping records in accordance with established procedures.
• Competence in using a variety of potentially dangerous equipment following all safety rules, requirements, practices, and precautions.

Preferred experience:

• Overhead crane rigging experience
• Proven ability to operate 5000# capacity and larger forklifts utilized to safely move structural steel beams and related material up to 65' in length.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
