Summary

Performs diagnostic exercise and pharmacologic stress exams in conjunction with Nuclear Cardiology imaging applications, which incorporates the use of radioactive tracers and advanced medical imaging modalities to evaluate, diagnose, and treat heart conditions. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of this service following the Code of Conduct of the appropriate certification board (ACSM). Provides appropriate patient care following the Radiology Gold Service Excellence guidelines to achieve successful completion of the procedure. Contributes as a team member to enhance job stewardship mindful of Internal and External customer service standards.

Responsibilities*

Perform and monitor diagnostic stress and pharmacologic exams according to established protocols as part of Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in Nuclear medicine which includes:

RELATED DUTIES

1. Identifies and enters data into the Radiology Information System and the Pacs and Hospital Information System.

2. Monitors the Order Entries for all patient exams.

3. Educates and monitors mandatory competencies for patient safety, infection control, fire safety, corporate compliance, and patient confidentiality. Including additional assigned educational modules for self-improvement.

4. Maintains ACLS Certification and ACSM Registry.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science or a related field
  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Test Technician or Exercise Specialist is required within one year of date of hire
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience in venipuncture for IV catheter placement
  • Experience in clinical testing and evaluation in a nuclear cardiology
  • General Computer experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work successfully with patients
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Background Screening
