We are hiring for an Executive Director in Fort Worth, TX.

The Executive Director serves in a pivotal leadership role in the community and reports to the Senior Vice President, Development. This position works with the highest-level executives in the Fort Worth/Tarrant County area with responsibilities for staffing volunteer Boards of Directors and fostering volunteer engagement and development.

The Executive Director also provides strategic direction and management to a group of committed fundraisers and support staff with overall responsibility for the revenue goals for Heart Ball, Heart Walk and Go Red for Women events. As part of foster an engaged community, the Executive Director will participate in community and corporate functions that allow for networking and generating new contacts to be part of the American Heart Association mission and fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to:

  • Accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Strong track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
  • Secure corporate donations through participating in and leading top-level sponsorship asks.
  • Cultivate major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships (of $25,000 or more), and identifying and securing foundation gifts.
  • Collaborative approach when working with other internal partners, such as our Health Strategies and Youth Market teams to help drive specific American Heart Association cause initiatives in defined markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising, volunteer management or similar experience, 3 years of managerial experience ideally with a sales team or fundraising team in a similar organization
  • Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics crucial
  • Ability to travel the Fort Worth/Tarrant County territory daily
  • Solid understanding of how to engage and work with philanthropic communities
  • Should be able to lift at least 20lbs from the ground to waist level
