We’re seeking an Executive Chef for The Mather Evanston who will create exceptional experiences for residents by directing the overall culinary program for multiple restaurant and lounge venues in our luxury Life Plan Community. Dedicated to a scratch cooking approach, our Executive Chef guides their team to consistently prepare and deliver memorable restaurant and catering experiences to our residents, family members, guests, and staff.

Requirements include:

• Culinary Arts Degree or Professional Chef Certification (CEC or ProChef 3)

• 10+ years progressive supervisory position in a high-quality, scratch multi-venue kitchen environment.
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment and make independent decisions as needed
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional and positive relationships between kitchen and service staff.
• Current sanitation certification and any other Mather, federal, state local requirements.
• Computer skills to include MS Office, SharePoint, online training platforms, recipe, and inventory control software, scheduling systems, purchasing platforms and email.

The Mather is a Life Plan Community for those age 62 and better. Our staff of professionals is committed to providing excellent service and a warm atmosphere for residents, visitors, and staff. The Mather is in Evanston, Illinois, close to downtown and public transportation. The Mather includes 240 independent living apartment homes, as well as assisted living, memory care, long-term care, and rehabilitation services, along with multiple restaurants, a fitness center, art studio, gardens, and more.
