The Treasure Valley Family YMCA has an exciting professional opportunity! We are hiring an Executive Branch Director for our Downtown Y, while currently in a $60 million capital campaign to build a new Downtown Y.


This branch has a long history in Boise and is the heart of the Boise community. The facility first open in 1891 and eventually moved to the current location in 1968. The facility is 88,000 sq. feet with 17,000 members. The new location will be 108,000 sq. feet and plan to serve 23,000 members. The new facility will include a THRIVE (neurodiversity center), Healthy Living Center, Maker Space and STEM Studio, hospital partner, banking partner, full aquatics center, and wellness offerings. The development next to the Y will be adding between 500-700 new residents to help with opening of the Y.


The new Downtown Y will be the hub and the heart of the Downtown community for the next generation and beyond. The new Y will provide services to those with diverse abilities, multigenerational programming, support to low income families and those facing housing insecurity. It will continue its role as a community anchor alongside collaborative partners.


Under the direct supervision of the Senior Executive Director of Membership Facilities, the Executive Director’s Key Responsibilities include;


  • Ability to build strong, strategic relationships with current and prospective partners inside and outside the Y.
  • Grow and expand the membership base, building bridges within the community to ensure all segments of society have access to the Y.
  • Strong focus on organizing philanthropic activity, and continuing to build upon the success of a strong annual campaign, with the support of a solid branch advisory board.
  • Be the face of the Y in the community, which requires guiding others on how to strengthen knowledge, skills, and competencies that improve organizational performance.
  • Responsible for creating an environment of trust and respect by empowering others and sharing authority will be key to this leader's success.
  • Providing support the Y’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and the core character values of the YMCA.

Qualifications:

  • Relationship builder who loves connecting with people and bringing them together.
  • Strong safety background and puts safety first.
  • Ability to develop and implement Association Leading Practices.
  • Proven track record in successfully growing a wide breadth of programming across the Branch.
  • Strong fiscal management background with the ability to manage a 3+MM annual budget.
  • Preferred experience opening a YMCA or, at minimal, starting new initiatives.
  • Ability to train, develop and lead staff towards desired outcomes.
  • Cause Driven Team Player.
  • Ability to have a strong physical presence within the Branch.
  • Partnership and skills to reach our goal of 100,000 visits a month and 23,000 members.
