The department’s 47+ full-time teaching faculty members are highly experienced clinicians who are devoted to training the next generation of neurologists.
Coordinates daily and long-range activities of the Chair and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO); triages correspondence and independently responds on behalf of the Chair and/or CAO; maintains Chair’s and CAO’s files; provides administrative support to the Chair and CAO including managing a complex calendar, incoming and outgoing correspondence, travel arrangements, and other general office support; serves as liaison between the Chair, CAO and leadership across the School of Medicine, UCIMC, UC system, as well as donors, faculty, staff, students, national and international leaders. Duties are performed with a sophisticated level of independence and advanced levels of decision-making responsibility. Incumbent must exercise excellent judgment and discretion essential to handling sensitive and confidential matters. Serves as supervisory for department administrative assistants and oversight of all administrative functions, including supervision of staff, prioritization of workload, resource allocation, and maintenance of required resources.

$30.84 - $42.77

Required:
1-2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Strong service orientation with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules and regulations. Skills to evaluate issues and identify resolutions. Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others. Extensive experience managing complex executive level calendars.
Preferred:
Demonstrated experience arranging executive travel, including, but not limited to, air and ground transportation, hotel accommodations, and preparing travel itineraries. Strong organizational skills to handle a diverse workload and prioritize projects with multiple deadlines, frequent interruptions, and changing priorities.
Special Conditions Required:
May require some evening hours and/or overtime. May require travel between various offices and clinics in Orange and Irvine campuses.
