Are you passionate about promoting local food and agriculture? Do you have a talent for coordinating and executing successful events? The Malibu Farmers Market is seeking a highly motivated and organized Event Coordinator to join our team.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work 20 hours per week or more
  • Working knowledge of all Google apps
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must live within 45 minutes of Malibu/Agoura Hills/Calabasas
  • Experience with event planning and coordination
  • Must have a cell phone, laptop (no older than 2 years old)

As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and coordinating events at the Malibu Farmers Market
  • Recruiting and coordinating with vendors and sponsors
  • Coordinating logistics, such as setup and tear down, parking, and security
  • Managing the event budget and tracking expenses
  • Collaborating with our marketing team to promote the events and increase attendance
  • Managing on-site operations and troubleshooting any issues that may arise
  • Coordinating post-event evaluations and reporting

The office assistant serves as the primary administrative liaison between vendors and Cornucopia.
A vital function of this role includes keeping up-to-date records for required vendor documents. The office assistant should also have excellent writing skills as the job requires drafting written communication on behalf of the organization, including letters, blog posts and articles. The office assistant will conduct market research to identify new areas of growth for the organization. This position reports directly to the President and co-founder of Cornucopia Foundation and will require some executive assistant support as part of this job.
