The primary function of the roofing estimator is to provide and lead full-service estimating for large-scale and complex projects. Projects will be varied and span multiple types of roofing contracts.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

• Review and utilize historical data from previous P.O.s, subcontracts, productivity and other reports as needed to assess unit and labor calculations.

• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

• Attend all pertinent pre-bid meetings and review proposals and specifications to determine scope of work and estimate.

• Track and manage awarded contracts including estimating change orders, additions, credits, materials, and more.

• Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

• Manage and maintain working documents and cost databases on a regular basis to support estimated figures.

• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.

• Design, produce and finalize RoofCAD drawings and plans.

• Conduct roof surveys and meet with clients to assess requirements, take measurements, photos, and collect data to be used in plan.

• Contribute to team effort and work with other departments to assess rates to be used in estimates. Assist contracting department for preparation of inquiries, final bids, etc.

• Provide technical support and guidance to personnel as required.

• Maintain a strong and comprehensive knowledge base of estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, cost control system, data analysis and strategic planning.

• Ability to estimate a variety of projects/contracts under strict deadlines.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

1. Intake Estimate and Supplement Requests

2. Order Eagleviews, ACT, or RoofRs

3. Create and upload estimates

4. Send off supplement estimates to ins

5. Communicate with Gabe and Carlos to get supplement moving

6. Communicate with insurance to come to a profitable settlement

7. Communicate with salesman to make sure we are fighting for the necessary items needed to complete the job and let them know once supplement is complete

8. 1. Total earnings equate to 2.5x your salary based on the formula:

Y=150X + B/10 Y=revenue, X=# of estimates, B=approved supplement money

Failure to maintain this required minimum could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination and directly affects departmental bonus structure incentives.

9. Perform all relative project responsibilities from cradle to grave with minimal oversight
