Position Summary

We are currently seeking a full time Estimating Coordinator to join the estimating team in our Corporate Office in Reno, Nevada. In this role, you will provide technical and administrative support to make the bid and estimating process as efficient as possible. This includes document distribution, subcontractor contact, quantity takeoffs, and administrative duties.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Review bid documents to determine scope of work and required precast concrete products for large construction projects.
  • Ensure drawings, blueprints, specifications, and any data are accurate prior to cost estimating projects through communication and engineering.
  • Calculate and prepare material and work item quantities (takeoffs) based on project requirements.
  • Prepare material pricing, labor production analysis, equipment pricing, delivery expenses, timing of product requirement, and other potential cost elements that may impact the estimate.
  • Produce shop orders and quotations using quoting and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program, as well as other project related documents.
  • Bid/Estimate Support: Use Configure Price Quote (CPQ)/CRM system to communicate with subcontractors and distribute electronic plans and specs. Organize bid documents. Manage flow of bid info (addenda, Requests for Information (RFI), etc.) between Jensen Precast, designers and subcontractors. Prepare bid forms and customize bid analysis documents. Perform quantity takeoffs. Collect and organize subcontractor bids. Prepare post-estimate bid books. Maintain bid calendar.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain subcontractor prequalification database. Manage copier/plotter/scanner equipment. Prepare expense reports. Order supplies, organize bid lunches, sort department mail, support other departments as needed, and provide general administrative support.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated estimating or sales experience. Other desired qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • 2 Year Degree with 3 years of related experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficient in database administration and computer programs related to sales and customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of plans, prints, drawings, and detailed plan specifications per customer requirements.
