This important role ensures our hospital is a pleasant place for our patients to recover.

EVS Technicians interact with patients, visitors, and employees in a friendly and courteous manner. They provide help throughout the hospital by performing a wide range of housekeeping duties in patient rooms, bathrooms, waiting areas, office areas, storage areas, and clinical areas. They are required to operate minor equipment, i.e., vacuum cleaner, floor buffers, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• EDUCATION: Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions

• EXPERIENCE: None required

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive and constant physical effort is required including walking, lifting a minimum of 25 lbs., pulling, pushing and stooping.
• Vision must be good or prescribed glasses worn.
• Preference for routine organized activities performed according to hospital departmental policies.
• High tolerance for change, handling varying demands made by staff, patients and visitors.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Works in a typical hospital environment subject to the hazards of a health care facility with the potential risk of exposure to disease and or hazardous wastes materials.
• Flexible scheduling is required including overtime, weekend assignments and second and third shift assignments.
