Colony Display, LLC specializes in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of industry leading stock and custom point-of-purchase and large project retail displays for retailers nationwide. Our team is growing, and we are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to create and enforce a culture of safety within the organization. Successful candidates will work towards implementing programs, policies, and assessments to ensure the compliance with all federal and internal health and safety rules and regulations.

Role and Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of Environmental Health and Safety for the facilities. Develop training methods and monitor training progress. Lead safety programs to reduce injury rates. Oversee data collection and submission of required reports to OSHA and other regulatory agencies and serve as the point of contact between outside agencies and the plant.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.

· Coordinates the safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.

· Evaluates the effectiveness of safety programs.

· Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.

· Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.

· Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.

· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.

· Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.

· Keeps OSHA required records on accidents and maintenance.

· Works with the Human Resources Department to track all activity for the facility related to time, return-to-work initiatives, and restricted duty provisions.

· Coordinates disability related absences with Human Resources.

· Manages local, state, and federal health and regulatory compliance.

· Assists as the emergency evacuation coordinator for the facility.

· Implements programs to assure correspondence with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations including documentation, reporting, permits, training, and policy development.

· Influences positive and proactive safety programs and practices throughout the facility.

· Complies with all EHS rules and regulations. Investigates all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage and any near misses to the management team.

· Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on hazardous materials used in the workplace.

· Helps to solve all workplace safety problems and maintain safety contingency plans.

· Monitors and enforces Company safety guidelines.

· Works directly with Department Managers to enforce safe work conditions.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

· Excellent management and supervisory skills.

· Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and emergency preparedness.

· Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to conduct training.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· 5-7 years’ experience facilitating and managing safety programs in manufacturing.

· Must have broad knowledge of local, state, and federal programs and regulations.

· OSHA trained.

· Experienced in safety and inspection.

· Excellent communication skills to effectively work with all employees as well as local & state organizations.

*This role will require local travel to and from our three IL locations: Bartlett, Batavia, and Antioch.

Preferred Skills:

· Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Science or a related discipline

· Advanced training or certification in Safety

· Bilingual in Spanish
