Organization Overview: Goddard Riverside and Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) have strategically aligned to enhance our services to New Yorkers.

The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non-profit, multi-service organization focusing primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.


Position Summary:
The Entitlement and Benefits (NOEP) Coordinator will facilitate the execution of the Isaacs Center’s state NOEP contract, which includes outreach related to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) outreach and referrals for internal and external food services to older adults and families.


Schedule:
35 hours per week


Salary:
$55,000


Goddard Riverside and Isaacs Center follow the CDC and NYS recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and are now requiring all new hires to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have a qualified exemption.


  • Provide direct assistance with public benefits applications and renewals with participants

  • Targeted and extensive outreach to community members experiencing or at risk for food insecurity

  • Develop and launch education campaigns in collaboration with agency directors on food security and SNAP benefits

  • Attending and presenting at community meetings, as well as scheduled NOEP contract meetings

  • Facilitate group information sessions regarding SNAP and other benefits, in-person and virtual

  • Collaborate with case management services throughout the agency

  • Assist with outreach efforts to increase participation

  • Make referrals to available community resources as needed

  • Develop and foster relationships with community and government agencies.

  • Prepare documentation (assessments, case logs, case notes, etc.) as stipulated by contractual and agency standards and procedures.

  • Tracking progress and units of service

  • Developing monthly or as-needed reporting

  • Adhere to agency policy and procedure, including related policy to COVID safety

  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications/Educational Requirements:


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is highly preferred
  • The Entitlement and Benefits (NOEP) Coordinator must possess strong writing, speaking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must have demonstrated experience providing exemplary customer service.
  • Experience and knowledge of public benefits and/or case management are strongly recommended.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Must have experience working with diverse and high-needs populations and value team building.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to work some flexible hours (e.g., evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving or Christmas Holiday)
