Summary

This position is responsible for processing daily transactions related to the Health Plan by performing the below essential duties.

Essential Duties

1. Processes member enrollment, disenrollment, change forms and daily correspondence.

2. Daily reconciliation of eligibility and demographic transactions.

3. Receives, processes, and reconciles member premium payments.

On Call Responsibilities

This position does not have any on call responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in administrative work (data entry, bookkeeping, etc.) preferred.
  • Medicare Experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to work with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
