Engineering Technician

Triumvirate Environmental is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team in Somerville, MA.

Responsibilities:

• Provide field support for various environmental projects including laboratory and facility decommissioning, indoor air assessments, industrial hygiene, laboratory equipment decontamination and calibration, and emergency response.
• Gas decontamination and certification of biological safety cabinets and chemical fume hoods.
• Preparing technical reports and certifications summarizing each project.
• Operating specialized equipment for decontamination, certification, and sterilization.
• A successful candidate must be able to wear a respirator for 2 to 6 hours, be independent
• Available to travel periodically
• Flexible with working hours, including possible off-hours and weekends.
• Candidate will be involved with a rotating emergency response team.
• This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred but not required
• Knowledge of federal regulations including EPA, OSHA, and various state regulations
• Knowledge of NSF, ANSI, AIHA, and ASHRAE guides and standards
• Experience with mechanical systems, construction background, and/or building infrastructure helpful
• Knowledge of hood and cabinet testing standards and guidance preferred. NSF accreditation highly preferred
• OSHA 40-hour training is an advantage
• Technical writing skills and proficiency preferred
• Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 pounds
• Self-motivated, independent thinker with the desire to learn
• Successful completion of OSHA/DOT physical examination, which includes drug and alcohol screening.
