Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. (CPC) is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to serve as an Engineer for vessel support services to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Point Mugu, Pacific Targets and Marine Operations (PTMO) division at Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, CA. The proposed Engineer shall possess expertise in military small craft maintenance and repair, vessel at-sea transfer, and documented experience in marine system troubleshooting techniques. This is a Part-Time, On-Call position for surge crew and requires the ability to work in at-sea and/or dockside environments, sometimes at remote locations with occasional over-night assignments. Surge crew requirements fluctuate according to PTMO scheduling, therefore short notice fulfillment of vessel crew can be anticipated. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Diagnosing marine engine malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to an operating condition.
• Follows established PM programs utilizing technical service manuals and schematic charts for marine engines and related marine equipment.
• Assists in fabrication of equipment and provides recommendations for required purchases of parts and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• ABYC Certifications
• OEM certifications for maritime propulsion systems
• Knowledge of vessel engine replacement and repowers
• Experience with hydraulic and electronic systems
• Must have or able to obtain active Secret Security Clearance
• US Citizenship
