POSITION OVERVIEW

The Quality Control position is a critical component in the success of our business. Working out of our newly renovated laboratory, the position is responsible for the analytical testing and releasing of in-process samples, finished goods and raw materials while ensuring GMP compliance and adherence to all applicable safety and quality policies. The role works closely with other departments to communicate and resolve issues proactively. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for performing HPLC, GC, CEM, DSC, pH, Particle Size, Viscosity and other tests and instruments in accordance with applicable SOP and Test Methods, on a day-to-day basis.

· Place non-conforming or out-of-specification materials on hold and initiate the investigation process.

· Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to determine test results.

· Collect samples from tanks per production schedule for testing.

· Clean, maintain, repair, and calibrate laboratory instruments.

· Aseptically collect samples to support environmental monitoring and analytical and microbiological testing of raw materials and finished products.

· Record analysis results as work is conducted and maintain documentation as required following GDP and GMP requirements.

· Review GMP records and documentation (e.g., raw material certificates of analysis) and verify the work of other QC laboratory staff to ensure compliance with GMP and client requirements.

· Notify supervisors and other personnel of production specification deviations, and assist in identifying and assist in corrective actions.

· Assist in method transfers and validations.

· Work overtime to cover vacancies/vacations and meet Customer requirements, including occasional weekends.

· Personal safety of self and other while conducting work tasks.

· Cross train to other processes and positions for business continuity and flexibility.

· Attend all plant meetings and complete all trainings on time.

· Participate and lead in 5S/Lean process improvement projects.

· Ability to occasionally push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS – MINIMUM REQUIRED

· High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with coursework completed in general chemistry.

· Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to all details of a project or task and the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

· Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.

· Tactful - Ability to show consideration for and maintain good relations with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a natural science and prior experience working in a GMP compliant QC/analytical laboratory or 2-4 years of experience in a GMP compliant QC laboratory.

· Fundamental laboratory skills (weighing, pipetting, dilution, titration, quantitative transfer, etc.).

· Theoretical knowledge in the areas of chemistry, chromatography, and instrumental analysis necessary to identify and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Software Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

· The ability to read and correctly interpret technical documents such as SOPs, certificates of analysis, specifications, Safety Data Sheets, instrument user manuals, and government regulations.
