Employee Experience Strategist (San Diego based)
The Employee Experience Strategist is focused on the strategy and execution of engagement related employee communications and activities across the organization. As a component of the Diversity & Sustainability Office (DSO), this position will partner across the organization, leveraging creative and strategic solutions to build and deliver meaningful experiences, project manage the BE Heard employee engagement survey (annual full survey and pulse survey), spearhead engagement programming (Employee Networks, events, activities, etc.) initiatives and lead the 12-month employee onboarding experience (new hire orientation, new employee experience, and hiring manager checklist/activities). Accountabilities include:
Engagement:
  • Lead processes to guide and promote Employee Network (Enet) activity that strategically aligns with Sony monthly themes and business objectives. Enable the Enets 30-60-90 planning cadence to ensure activities are planned, scheduled, marketed, executed and shared internally and externally.
  • Provide leadership in the creation and/or maintenance of an inclusive and positive culture through meaningful programming including onboarding, employee recognition, employee program offerings, employee networks, etc. both by creative and innovative problem solving and through partnership with cross-organizational groups. Ensure programs are adapted and adjusted to ensure employee and business needs are being met across multi-sites in both the US and Canada (e.g., adjust programming for remote or distributed workforce).
  • Project manage the annual BE Heard employee engagement survey and bi-annual pulse survey, and other ongoing ad hoc surveys to support all voices to BE Heard. Collaborate with the Senior Talent Development Analyst to track and analyze survey data along with key metrics to review progression of building engagement along with linkages to specific business group area of strengths and/or development in specific categories. Utilize data to influence and suggest modifications and changes to strategy and programs aligned to the engagement of the employee population.
  • Partner and work closely with various members of the HR team (CHRO, Learning and Development, Benefits, HR Business Partners, HRES, DSO) as well as Corporate Communications, Marketing, IT and other departments to ensure consistent and cohesive messaging, culture and engagement activities, programs and events across the organization.
  • Support HRBPs with reporting, tools and resources to drive robust and meaningful conversations with leaders about the team’s engagement trend. Help to create a broader knowledge across leaders on the principles of engagement, identify methods and solutions for leaders to leverage to drive engagement across their teams, and influence the creation of engagement action plans across employee populations.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with Life@Sony site ambassadors to ensure strategic engagement activities are planned, scheduled, marketed, executed and shared internally and externally.
  • Plan and support the execution of corporate engagement events including, employee mixers, wellness events, philanthropic efforts, and holiday events including company-wide annual holiday party in partnership with the Work-Life Balance focused Employee Network, etc.
  • Oversee New Hire Orientation (NHO) and ensure that new employees receive an excellent onboarding experience.
Communications:
  • Create a master communication plan for disseminating critical engagement, Life@Sony, DSO and SNA benefits messages and materials across multiple channels – including email, intranet, presentation decks, video, and other collateral.
  • Cultivate 2-way conversation with our employees to bring awareness and market our perks and benefits in support of our employee value proposition project (Ex. Investment in You).
  • Strategize how to increase branding presence on LinkedIn with new and innovative content.

  • Direct the application process for external company awards recognition, including researching and collecting award application data and ensuring the application is submitted on time. Collaborate with the Engagement Communication Specialist to communicate earned awards internally/externally.
  • Develop and recommend new programs, enhancements, strategies, and thought leadership to continuously develop and improve the employee experience.

  • Oversee engagement programming budget and spend.

  • Manage and partner on ad hoc projects as they arise.

Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources or related experience required; including development and execution of employee engagement, diversity and/or inclusion strategy • Superior written, verbal and social communications skills • Agile learner, able to manage multiple priorities in a flexible environment • Effective public speaking skills with demonstrated ability to present ideas and information in an impactful and understandable way • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management and external organizations • Demonstrated ability to work within a team as well as independently, manage time, organize and accurately prioritize work across multiple projects, be detail-oriented, work within deadlines and understand when urgency is required • Experience using data to address business challenges and develop/adapt program/communications strategies • Holds a passion for employee engagement and cultivating a culture where employees can thrive • Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) • Preferred experience with design applications/platforms (e.g., Canva).
