Position Summary:
The Early Learning Center Teacher is responsible to guide students in their quest to discern God’s will for their lives at Delmarva Christian Schools. This employee must have a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ to enable them to reach students by helping develop their God-given intellectual, physical, and spiritual talents. The Early Learning Center Teacher believes that every student has been created by God uniquely and challenges them to reach their fullest potential.
Requirements:Preferred Qualifications:
? Vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
? TECE 1 and 2 or equivalent college credits in an appropriate pathway
? Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or higher
? Two years experience in an Early Childhood setting (Preferred)
? ACSI Early childhood teacher certification
? CPR/ First Aid certification
? Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills
? Able to meet the physical requirements of the position including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities:
Classroom
? Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning and reflecting Christ’s love.
? Develop and implement well-thought lessons that employ a variety of instructional strategies meant to engage all types of learning styles.
? Engage through interactive play, sitting on the floor with children (or at tables), reading, playing outside, and asking higher level thinking questions.
? Clean and arrange the classroom environment in accordance to the program goals and philosophy.
? Create and utilize learning centers.
? Maintain open communication with parents, both verbally and written.
? Report any suspected abuse immediately to the supervisor.
? Keep all appropriate records such as attendance, timesheets and student assessments.
? Toilet and change diapers as needed.
? Maintain and turn in a daily time sheet for 2 week periods.
? Willing to provide support and coverage to coworkers as needed including helping to maintain the orderliness and organization of the Early Learning Center as a whole.
? Other duties, as assigned

? Actively promote the program in the community.
? Attend in-service and staff meetings.
? Attend professional development classes to keep the program engaging and aligned with best practice.
? Maintain a growth mindset through regular continuing education.

? Maintenance of open and constructive communication with the office.
? Maintenance of confidentiality.
? Maintenance of a safe and healthy environment, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
? Maintenance of open communication with parents, both verbally and written.
? Maintenance of healthy relationships with students, parents, and coworkers.
? Observed implementation of a learning curriculum.
