Early Head Start Home Base Educator Job at Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency
Responsible for the coordination of Early Head Start programming. Instructs expectant parents, infants, and toddlers in a home setting, developing approved curriculum and providing family services in conjunction with parent education and skill development. Responsible for implementing school readiness goals, child outcomes, and promoting parent, family and community engagement.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor's degree with valid Minnesota Pre-K or birth to grade 3 license, social work, or related degree
- Experience in curriculum development
- Computer literate
- Regularly lifts 50 pounds and occasionally more
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
- Current Infant/Child CPR/First Aid Certificate or must be able to obtain
- Background check required
Needed Attributes:

- Ability to work with families from a variety of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds

Essential Functions:
- Provides individualized programming based on the identified needs of expectant parents and parents of infants/toddlers
- Instructs and facilitates developmentally-appropriate cognitive, social, emotional, physical, language, and literacy skills
- Responsible for computerized data collection, entry, reporting, and analyzing child outcomes as mandated by federal, state, and local regulations
- Pilots projects for federal, state, and local initiatives
- Conducts individual child screening in conjunction with Public Health and parents
- Refers and assists in development and implementation of federal, state and locally-mandated regulations: Planned and documented interventions, individual inter-agency intervention plans, and individual health plans
- Manages site and nutrition budgets, equipment, materials, and supplies
- Conducts conferences and home visits with parents and facilitates transition meetings
- Implements health, social service, safety, nutrition, and mental health services in collaboration with program managers, staff, consultants, and community partners
- Supports and implements the parent, family, and community engagement goals and activities
- Develops and implements individualized family partnership agreements with families to identify strengths, goals, and strategies toward achieving self-sufficiency
- Manages crisis intervention and utilizes community resources and referrals
- Plans and implements field trip experiences and family socialization experiences
- Assists with community outreach projects, programs, and public relations
- Responsible for compliance with program training requirements.
- Initiates recruitment of Head Start families
- Is a mandated reporter
