Job Description

Drillers and helpers are needed in drilling operations. Work includes surface air rotary and reverse circulation. The worksite location is in Southeastern Utah. This is a full-time project-based position.

Essential Job Functions may include the following or other duties as assigned:

• Moving drill from one setup to another.
• Setting up of drill, decking, and other related equipment.
• Handling chip trays and sample bags, and proper marking of samples.
• Assisting with equipment maintenance and repair.
• Cleaning equipment and keeping the working area free of debris.
• Mixing drill mud and additives for increasing viscosity or lubrication down the hole.
• Maintaining water source or source of lubricants (i.e. water lines and supply pumps).
• Hauling supplies and equipment.
• Using tools, equipment, and machinery including pickups, vans, water trucks, tractors, skidders, forklifts, pipe wrenches, fall protection systems, and other safety equipment in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Frequently lift and/or move 40 to 70 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Special projects, training, and clerical tasks when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification:

• 2+ years drilling experience required for driller
• Little to no experience for helpers.
• Current Surface Part 48 MSHA a plus.

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements:

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to speak clearly to others and understand directions given.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions and directions.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time during a regular workday; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other climbing devices; carry tools and equipment; work while in stooping, kneeling, crouched, and crawling position; be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks.

• 12-hour shifts

Pay: $24.10 - $30.00 per hour
