Coastal Horizons Center, Inc., a recognized leader in substance use, mental health, rape crisis, prevention and criminal justice services, based in Wilmington, NC., has an opportunity for an Equity and Inclusion Director to become part of our leadership team. The Equity and Inclusion Director partners with the President & CEO, members of its Management Team, senior staff leaders and community stakeholders to develop and drive forward key diversity strategies.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Equity and Inclusion Director will be primarily responsible for setting, implementing and nurturing an overarching vision of diversity, anti-racist, equitable and inclusive processes that work to eliminate systemic organizational marginalization, and promote inclusion and anti-racist practices to be evidenced throughout our structures, customs, and leadership. The successful Equity and Inclusion Director will be an inspiring, collaborative, courageous, innovative, and visionary leader with outstanding relationship building and communication skills.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

Basic requirements: Minimum Bachelor’s degree, in management or human service field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in non-profit or mental health leadership with progressive work in diversity and equity initiatives.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience advocating for and implementing change within a multi-cultural environment, or equivalent; Minimum 1 year of experience developing and implementing diversity/equity/inclusion programs, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of culturally specific resources available within the community.
  • Effective intercultural communication skills and ability to address issues of diversity.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and facilitating trainings.
