• DIVERSIONAL CARE SPECIALTY- FULL-TIME 11AM- 7PM
• Position requires a weekend and holiday requirement

A position in this specialty performs the duties of a certified nurse aide with proficiency and delivers, cares for and interacts with dementia and other cognitively impaired residents by incorporating skills to maintain individual dignity and well-being. Interacts with caregivers and residents for the purpose of planning and implementing group and individual activities for our residents to maximize resident functions. Utilizes advanced knowledge of behaviors to implement interventions that minimizes adverse behavior.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge and ability to apply accepted standards, methods and techniques of resident care using practices applicable to long-term-care nursing.
• Knowledge and ability to perform ADL’s and procedures for residents with limited abilities to assist themselves.
• Knowledge of Universal Precautions.
• Ability to observe and assess resident’s conditions.
• Ability to maintain records as indicated.
• Ability to have compassion for senior adults.
• Ability to be creative when dealing with senior adults with dementia issues.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to be part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Must have full use of hands, ability to stand for extensive periods, bend, pull, push and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Criminal Background check required
• Current Pennsylvania Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate required
• Additional six (6) courses on Care of the Dementia Resident.
