Purpose of Position:

Managing the daily activities at the distribution center involving planning, directing, and coordinating transportation, storage, and distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directs all Distribution Center operations, including leading small team in efficient and safe warehouse operations.

· Manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.

· Utilize data driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies.

· Directs and delegates assignments of operational warehouse functions including, planning, implementation, and leading improvement initiatives.

• Manages and monitors labor expenses and weekly payroll.
• Executes established safety and security programs.
• Develops and documents standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products/materials.
• Reviews workforce staffing to ensure proper levels to meet business demands.
• Partners with outside vendors and customers to support orders.
• Reviews operational issues impacting customer service /costs.
• Ensures fair, equitable and consistent treatment for all employees, truck drivers, and vendors.
• Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues.
• Ensures all operations adhere to industry safe protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations.
• Some bookkeeping requirements: overseeing accounts receivable functions ensuring customers are being billed timely and that all delinquent accounts are collected. Approving and turning in accounts payable invoices timely so invoices are paid on time.
• Responsible for customer inventory stored on property.

Key Competencies:

• Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving rail, or road including the relative costs and benefits.
• Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.

Requirements:

· Advanced Degree in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing, or logistics

· 1 – 3 Years of related and progressively responsible experience

· Ability to communicate effectively as a leader, both orally and in writing

· Good leadership skills

· Working knowledge of warehouse operations

· Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

· Knowledge of computers to operate effectively with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

· Must be willing to work with little to no supervision and still be held accountable

· Must be willing to work extended hours and on call as needed to meet productivity goals and provide emergency service to customers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour
