Job Summary
This position exists to provide DCS software support for process graphics, loop tuning, project support and alarm management. The DCS engineer increases plant process productivity and adds value by integrating plant asset, information, technology, effective maintenance, while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health and safety regulatory and company requirements.

ABB DCS SYSTEM MAINTENANCE – Check DCS system health routinely. Backup the system periodically. Work with technician to diagnosis and troubleshooting when encounters abnormal situations.

ABB DCS CONTROL FUNCTION SUPPORT – Support operation plant to build/modify the control functions configuration when required.

PROCESS CONTROL SERVICE - Support plant control loop performance evaluation, maintenance, troubleshooting. Evaluate and advise control alarm management.

CONTROL PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT- Apply process control technology to improve manufacturing processes to provide competitive advantage. Develop knowledge of existing processes to identify process control improvement opportunities. Use a broad range of process control skills such as advanced regulatory control, model predictive control, adaptive tuning, or soft sensors to optimize existing processes.

Job Requirements

0-3 years DCS experience

Bachelors or Masters in Chemical Engineering

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must meet all safety requirements
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required including frequent overtime for time sensitive projects
  • Must demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to handle and manage the stress associated with the position, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Must be able to travel to offsite locations or other business functions as needed (requirement to travel means having a valid driver’s license and being prepared to drive a motor vehicle and to fly with overnight stays required).
  • Must implement/educate/train and adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Must be able to collaborate by integrating and utilizing cross-functional Internal Contacts and External Contact resources to impact Department goals and results optimally.
