Job description

To maintain the dishwashing/pots and pans areas of the Barn Restaurant, focusing attention on every aspect of assigned procedures, providing the highest quality of cleanliness, assuring guests enjoy rich dining experiences.

  • EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AVAILABILITY REQUIRED.*

Essential Functions (Responsibilities): include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provide gracious hospitality at all times – “hospitality always.”

2. Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, co-workers, in the kitchen and barn dining room.

3. Knowledge of the set up/clean up of the dish, pots and pans areas.

4. Proper knowledge of spraying, scrubbing, sanitizing, etc.

5. Knowledge of clearing and re-setting a dining table.

6. Work as needed including some evenings, weekends and holidays.

7. Keep the safety of guests, staff, and self a priority.

8. Care for the building, its cleanliness, and equipment.

9. Responsible to take out the trash, dairy crates, boxes, etc.

10. Assist where needed in the kitchen/dining room performing additional and/or other duties such as breading chicken, picking up/returning the Doughbox cart, delivering Café food, carrying bus tubs, putting away stock etc. as directed.

1. Manual dexterity to perform kitchen responsibilities such as carrying and emptying large/small containers, bus tubs, pans, trays, etc.

2. Manual dexterity to perform dining room responsibilities such as carrying bus tubs, silverware trays, ice buckets, laundry bags, trash, etc.

3. Physical skills include, but are not limited to, frequent standing, walking, and lifting.

4. Ability to work as a team, helping each other.

5. Ability to work independently on tasks and follow through to completion.

6. Interest in and ability to learn, retain and implement food service information and skills.

7. Able to work in an environment that is not always climate controlled.

8. May involve working in an environment that uses chemicals for cleaning purposes, sanitizing, insect spraying, etc.

9. Must follow the appearance and attire guidelines as outlined in the employee manual.

10. Must follow regulations/guidelines/codes as directed by the Department of Health.
