Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a state-wide, public (tuition-free) K-12 cyber charter school with a substantial number of students. General Summary:

Provides direct oversight of the development and implementation of all processes surrounding the Student Services Department including: admissions and student enrollment, student orientation, record collection / distribution, student attendance and truancy, student withdrawal, distribution and collection of student materials, administration of standardized state testing and the Parent/Student Network, facilitates annual Commencement Exercises along with other projects.

Plans and maintains policy and procedures for operating efficiently and within the guidelines of PALCS and the PA Department of Education. Will coach, mentor and develop staff, including new employee onboarding. Will communicate, manage outcomes and be accountable to the CEO for all department initiatives staff performance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate and facilitate the development of the cooperative efforts between Student Services and other school departments
  • Serves as a leader and general resource person in matters to Student Services
  • Participates in the preparation and administration of Student Services program budgets and reports as required
  • Interprets, prepares and disseminates information regarding PDE regulations
  • Prepares school board agenda items relating to the Director’s area of responsibilities
  • Organizes and is responsible for the administration of PALCS annual annual graduation ceremony
  • Oversees and supports the Supervisor of Standardized Testing within all associated standardized testing responsibilities
  • Handles parent concerns
  • Supervises and evaluates assigned staff
  • Provides timely and effective communication regarding situations which might impact the school
  • Makes active and consistent efforts to maintain or improve the external and internal image of PALCS
  • Establish annual goals and objectives as deemed appropriate by the CEO
  • Gathers appropriate data in support of the status of annual objectives and job descriptive elements
  • Attends all pertinent meetings including school board meetings, Technical Steering Committee, Retention and Family Engagement
  • Participate in professional organizations and conferences such as (A/CAPA) Attendance / Child Accounting Professionals and (NAFSCE) National Association for Family, School and Community Engagement

Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
Physical: In addition to normal vision, speech, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting (supplies and materials that are perhaps 25 pounds), stooping, bending, grasping, keyboarding, and filing ability this position oversees the Standardized Testing Supervisor responsibilities as well as organization and administration of the annual PALCS graduation ceremony. Both of these responsibilities may require overnight travel and potential transport of supplies and materials.
