NC Tech Paths has created a powerful model by connecting local residents with access to tech training and then connecting graduates with employer partners and jobs. We recruit students and learners for

  • Boot Camps: Learners can earn certifications leading to careers in IT support, software engineering through our partnership with national leader, Per Scholas.
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s Degrees: Available through Wilkes Community College and Appalachian State University

Primary career focus areas at the outset include IT Support, Cybersecurity, Network Management, and Software Development. We also provide career awareness, coaching, job readiness and job placement assistance with qualified graduates.

NC Tech Paths has strategic partnerships with employers seeking qualified tech talent who can work remotely from our service area. NC Tech Paths serves as a placement agency for these partners, connecting them with talent in exchange for a one-time job placement fee for successful new hires.

Job Overview
The Director of Strategic Partnerships serves as the bridge between NC Tech Paths, our education partners and employer partner companies, working to validate and anticipate hiring needs and securing commitments to hire qualified candidates from our talent pipeline. The Director will develop new employer partner relationships as well, ensuring our graduates have ample opportunities for placement within 6 months of graduation. This is a hybrid position, requiring physical presence in NW
North Carolina and occasional travel within the state. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for all steps associated with employer partnership management and sales. The Director of Strategic
Partnerships will also work closely with NC Tech Paths team members including the Talent
Development Manager on placement, and the Executive Director and educational partners on curriculum alignment with employer partner needs.

Recruit and Manage New and Existing Employer Partners

  • Build and manage a sales pipeline of prospective employer partners to establish talent needs, and hiring cycles leveraging Salesforce and other tools to track and engage
  • Cultivate an intentional portfolio of diverse employer partners across industries, size, and location that fit the value proposition of NC Tech Paths
  • Prepare and present information and effective proposals for existing and prospective employer partners
  • Secure hiring commitments from employer partners for upcoming cohorts of learners enrolled in accelerated skilling and degree-seeking programs supported by NC Tech Paths

Talent Placement Strategy and Execution

  • Coordinate with Executive Director, Talent Development Manager and educational partners to align curriculum and learner recruitment with projected employer partner hiring needs
  • Coordinate with Talent Development Manager and educational partners to facilitate opportunities for employer partners to engage with learners enrolled in accelerated skilling and degree-seeking programs supported by NC Tech Paths
  • Oversee tech talent interview and placement process in collaboration with employer partners, Talent Development Manager, and educational partners
  • Manage and orchestrate master services agreements, hiring contracts, and invoicing to employer partners
  • Continually gather and assess competitive landscape and shape competitive advantage

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Management or similar majors OR Military experience OR 2-4 years of professional experience in Business-to-Business Sales (management experience preferred/ not required).
  • Experience in service-oriented sales, especially within the IT industry is highly preferred
  • Non-profit or startup experience helpful, but not required
  • Minimum of 2+ years of successful Sales experience that includes all phases of Sales Lifecycle and a track record of exceeding quotas
  • Ability to effectively solve customer problems by leveraging a network of partners and market data points
  • Flexibility to seamlessly move from professional settings to rural, small-town settings with a high degree of emotional intelligence and situational awareness
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High standards of professionalism and character, commitment to the mission
  • A desire for continuous growth by always looking for ways to expand knowledge of customers, industry trends, and technology insights

Benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 depending on experience. Benefits for the role include a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan match of 3%, QSEHRA health insurance premium reimbursement, 15 days paid time off (“PTO”) and 10 paid holidays.
