The Director of PGS Admissions and Strategic Alliances is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating all recruitment and admissions processes and strategic alliances for enrollment in the Division of Professional and Graduate Studies. The director will hire and train all admissions counselors and work collaboratively across the campus community (e.g., marketing, financial aid, registrar, academic advising, faculty, and the business office) to set and achieve recruitment and enrollment goals.

Essential Functions

Enrollment Management and Strategic Partnerships:

  • Direct the daily operations of the Division of Professional and Graduate Studies admissions team.
  • Use CRM strategies and software to track students across all levels of the enrollment funnel.
  • Create and maintain prospective student, new student, and financial readiness tracking reports.
  • Use data to recommend PGS enrollment and revenue goals, including program tuition and pricing.
  • Identify new opportunities and market trends for enrollment growth:
    • Develop partnerships with community colleges to build transfer student pipelines;
    • Initiate partnerships with employers to develop desirable programs (degree and non-degree) and initiatives for workforce development;
    • Share market intelligence with faculty and other academic partners to initiate new, in-demand degree and non-degree programs.

Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Creative Services to identify and implement strategic marketing and best practices for branding and publicizing adult undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • With DM&CS, coordinate regular meetings and ongoing communications with program directors and department chairs to ensure accurate program depiction and marketing online, and in collateral materials and presentations.
  • Provide content updates for PGS marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze the success of individual marketing campaigns through prospective student tracking.
  • Execute PGS Open House events and external recruitment activities.
  • Work with graduate program directors and department chairs to set enrollment goals and coordinate program information sessions.

Supervisory:

  • Hire, train, and conduct performance evaluations for the admissions staff.
  • Direct workflow and delegate tasks as needed to facilitate the admissions process.
  • Manage timesheets and PTO requests for direct reports

Operations:

  • Work collaboratively with College offices to ensure compliance with new student acceptance, including for unique populations such as veterans and Latinx.
  • Track financial aid readiness and communicate with prospective students.
  • Attend college meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience working in higher education enrollment with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Friendly, positive attitude/disposition, ability to collaborate well.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • A solid work ethic and commitment to DEI and a welcoming workplace.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Education
Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with advanced knowledge in grammar and proofreading.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, and customer relationship management (CRM) models. Slate is our CRM tool.
  • Knowledge of Intelliworks and Datatel/Colleague preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work remotely as needed.

Special Work Schedule Requirements
Typical work days are Monday through Friday, with additional evenings and weekends as needed to meet enrollment and customer service goals. Some local travel is required.
