Job Summary:

The Director of Facilities has overall responsibility for the overall operation of the company’s maintenance program. This includes ensuring the preventative maintenance plan is executed properly, managing multiple staff to ensure proper work flow for all campuses. Works with vendors to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner and manages all capital work projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all campuses are in compliance with fire, health and safety standards and assist with fire, health and safety inspections.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition, maintained according to warranties or specified schedules, and replaced as needed.
  • Coordinate with facility vendors and ensure that they are meeting maintenance schedules and standards, such as for lawn, septic systems, fire and security systems, HVAC systems, floors, carpets, etc.
  • Order, maintain and deliver custodial supplies, equipment and other supplies needed by the centers.
  • Oversee new construction, including assist in obtaining needed permits, passing inspections, and reviewing quality of work.
  • Perform other routine maintenance and custodial tasks as needed.
  • In partnership with principals, supervise custodian and maintenance staff. Provides appraisals, counseling, delegating, developing and coaching of employees.
  • Set goals, create and manage projects and budgeted costs.
  • Develop and enforce proper Facilities polices, standards and security procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication across all areas of UCP with management, customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure inventory control for all assigned resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Training:

  • High School Degree or BA in Business or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in facilities management and maintenance.
  • 5 years of working in a maintenance department within a school setting.
  • Multiple years of experience in dealing with DCF licensing requirements with regards to facility and safety standards.
