The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Pratt Institute welcomes you to apply for the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ( DEI) position. Reporting to the Executive Director of DEI, this position will be responsible for developing targeted engagement, professional development, and retention strategies, events, and initiatives for faculty and staff at the Pratt Brooklyn and Manhattan Campuses. The Director will also collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning, Human Resources, and the Office of the Provost to develop training curricula and workshops for faculty and staff that advance inclusive excellence across the Institute.

On a typical day, you will be required to:
  • Develop and execute innovative engagement and belonging strategies, programs, and events for faculty and staff to support the Pratt DEI Strategic Plan.
  • Create and support leadership development, academic research, and mentoring programs for underrepresented faculty groups; develop and manage the DEI Faculty Fellowship Program.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support for Pratt Staff Council initiatives; develop and manage Employee Resource Networks for underrepresented faculty and staff groups.
  • Partner with the Executive Director of DEI to develop the curriculum and facilitate training workshops for the DEI Allies Training Certificate Program.
  • Partner with the Center for Teaching and Learning to create trainings and workshops for faculty on inclusive pedagogy, curriculum design, classroom management, etc.
  • Collaborate with the DEI Team on special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned. Serve on various institutional committees as needed.



This position is located on the Pratt Brooklyn campus with a hybrid work schedule. Salary Range: $83,000 - $102,000 + Generous Benefits including:

Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree required. Ph.D. preferred.

Experience: Five to seven years experience in higher education administration; diversity, equity and inclusion; academic, co-curricular, and training curriculum development, facilitation, and assessment.

Skills:
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices; ability to work well with diverse constituents at all organizational levels; and demonstrated cultural competence and humility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications, websites, and social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, strategic, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Self-directed with strong creative problem-solving ability.
  • Expertise in program development, budget management, and event coordination.
