ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Development is responsible for all of Greyston’s fundraising, including individual donor program, corporate donor program, private and government grants, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. The Director of Development collaborates with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and staff to identify, cultivate and solicit donations, grants and contracts from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Responsible for growing, planning, organizing and directing all of Greyston’s fundraising including, individual donor program, corporate donor program, private and government grants, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns.
  • Formulates development strategy to increase funding and prepares an annual plan for development.
  • Leads major fundraising campaigns to generate and close gifts of six figures and above.
  • Collaborates with CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and staff to identify, cultivate and solicit donations, grants, and contracts with individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies.
  • Conducts fundraising projects; solicits contributions and develops potential new donors while representing the institution effectively.
  • Develops, maintains, and allocates department budget; operates within approved budget.
  • Creates, writes, and coordinates development annual report; establishes goals and objectives for fiscal year.
  • Manages funding database and expands individual, corporate, foundation and government donor and grant programs.
  • Develops, plans, and implements fundraising events including but not limited to events, auctions, receptions, and parties.
  • Assures that the fundraising program is thoroughly and effectively integrated with all other departments so the goal of each may contribute to higher revenues every year.
  • Develops policies and procedures and ensures that established procedures are followed.
  • Leads the fundraising team and is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of government, corporate, foundation, individual donors locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Represents the institution through participation at professional meetings and organizations.
  • Manages and reviews all reporting, tracking, acknowledgements, receipts and other programs for the campaign.
  • Provides regular assessment, analysis, reporting and projections of development and campaign activity, income, and pledges.
  • Coordinates with institution and volunteer leadership to increase integration and visibility of fundraising program planning.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops development department staff; manages workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Assists with special projects as required.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Ten years minimum experience in non-profit fundraising and development.
  • Experience in leading major fundraising campaigns and generating and closing gifts of six figures and above.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve significant fundraising priorities goals.
  • Foundation relationship and grant writing experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
