Role & Function

The Director, New Products & Strategy Lead reports to the Head of Strategy and Business Optimization for North America. The position plays a key role in evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing key growth opportunities to ensure long term success of Sobi North America (United States and Canada). This individual will lead and manage cross-functional projects including but not limited to new business development evaluation and assessment, product launches, new indication assessments, and lifecycle management programs to drive value for the business. In addition, this individual will also support key strategic projects and initiatives for North America, in line with prioritized business needs.

This is a remote position with occasional travel. #Li-Remote

Key Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to the following

  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects and teams across North America and facilitate collaboration with the Global team
  • Partner in evaluating and executing growth opportunities and key strategic projects for the North American organization
  • Assess new commercial opportunities for our current portfolio, including (financial) business case and market opportunity assessment, go to market design and other operational considerations
  • Support and lead launch design and planning, including establishing launch strategy, conducting market research to assess physician/patient dynamics, assessing foot field footprint and operational support needs, developing launch tools
  • Conduct commercial assessments for due diligence of potential business development / M&A and support integration
  • Secure in-depth knowledge of market size, treatment pathway, competitive landscape, payer landscape, and unmet needs and market dynamics for disease area under evaluation
  • Design and establish governance, roadmap and tools needed to lead key programs and successfully drive the integration of potential acquisitions
  • Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators to measure success of programs
  • Provide recommendations and updates to North America Leadership Team and Corporate leadership
  • Ensure proactive communication with internal stakeholders
  • Track milestones, decisions and potential challenges arising from partnership discussions

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical/medical industry experience and/or related consulting experience
  • Direct experience in commercial strategy, new product planning or commercial assessment preferred
  • Understanding of pharma and biotech market, development cycles and value creation strategies, sales and marketing requirements, and key commercial processes
  • Rare disease and/or Specialty Pharma experience preferred
  • Ability to be strategic and prioritize key projects to deliver with optimal impact
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional projects and teams with multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership based across NA and Europe
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the capability to appropriately define and frame issues, questions and data; to perform accurate analysis; and to think creatively about different ways to analyze data and information
  • Strong financial acumen and experience creating (or partnering on) financial business case
  • Capability to write deal summaries, including developing/assessing business strategies, validating commercial assumptions, developing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative support documentation, summarizing information in a concise and efficient manner
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to establish logical flow and key points to realize objectives
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point required
  • Ability to be a thought partner to teams across the business
  • Ability to handle confidential information and data with the upmost care and demonstration of highest ethical standards
