This position presents an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in the newly formed Technical Readiness 2.0 organization and, have a significant impact into improving the ELC innovation process/workflows and building the framework for the Risk Management Data &Analytics and Scorecard reporting for the value technical readiness group.

The primary role of this position is to help provide technical readiness insights through designing and delivering a build a robust, analytics strategy based on technical health , risk management, post launch review and NPL readiness tools.

This role will craft a vision and direction for Tech Readiness 2.0 team using analytics and reporting that matches our maturity, corporate and functional strategy and goals, and will execute on that vision. The Director will build a high performing, responsive program that can gather and synthetize data quickly and accurately and translate it into actionable and proactive insights and recommendations and allow us to measure and share performance using Scorecard and KPI reporting.

The individual is required to closely collaborate with Corporate functions – R&D, Packaging, Engineering, GBSC, GSR, GSC and Corporate QA and cross functional teams.

The geographic scope is Global R&D Sites at Melville (USA), Blaine (USA), Toronto (Canada), Shanghai, China (APAC), and our newly implemented Sakura sites.

This role works across the entire Value Chain business functions with primary focus on strengthening the Innovation process, specifically on Technical Risk Management, and ensuring excellence in execution within the technical community. Initial focus will be on the NPL Risk Management, before taking on upstream innovation.

Risk Management & Technical readiness Analytics

  • Partner with VC functions across the organization to craft and refine a vision for data analytics and governance at all relevant levels of the organization.
  • Use the data from technical health process, risk management and other NPL /Quality data sources to provide real-time insight and identify key focus themes and areas for prioritization to drive the biggest improvement across our value chain teams, innovation work flows, Specs/Standards as well as NPL workflows
  • Develop the strategic vision for and drive development and maintenance of data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, descriptive, investigative, and predictive analytics, and performance metrics to support quality delivery and organizational decision-making.
  • Collaborate as required with IT BI & Analytics team to design a scalable, stable backend database platform and provide ongoing technical support

o Define and drive a structured and nimble approach for ongoing and timely translation of data into actionable insights that drive continuous quality improvement.

o Develop and foster peer, cross-functional relationships to maximize team effectiveness

Score card and KPI reporting

  • Bring reporting products from conception to launch, define requirements, create a roadmap•
  • Interpret and present data in formats that are easy to understand
Develop easy-to-use / automated KPI frameworks/dashboards and reports to support business decision making by working close with the Manager pf Quality Tools & Technology

Internal Benchmarking, Best Practices & Organizational Data Analytics Proficiency

  • Partner closely with internal teams (Quality COE, NPL COE etc..) to proactively engage with analytics experts to design best-in-class analytical concepts and models supporting effective and efficient quality and operational delivery in a regulated environment and consumer intelligence
  • Provide input into strategic plans based on findings from competitor benchmarking, best practices and consumer intelligence
  • Develop data analytics and data literacy as a core competency across the organization via the development and delivery of a comprehensive training program

Collaborate with the Training & Capabilities manager to establish a mid-and-long-term training roadmap and budget to support reporting and analytical needs of the organization.


Qualifications


Leadership & Business Skills:

  • Highly collaborative relationship building skills with various internal and external stakeholders – across the R&D and Supply chain organizations (end to end Value chain)
  • Must demonstrate a high sense of urgency to influence changes and drive outcomes from conception to market
  • Ability to support technical change management and provide thought leadership skills
  • Effective communication and must be detail oriented when necessary
  • Able to work closely with functional owners as needed
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of beauty or similar industry and global / regional market trends is preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Strong End to End Value Chain knowledge in product/packaging development, technical readiness assessment, supplier quality assessment,
  • Experience in core technologies to meet functional objectives including RDS, PDS, Cornerstone Apps, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SAP, SAP QM, Power BI/Tableau
  • Excellent problem-solving/root cause analysis skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience in using data and data science to drive quantitative analysis and break-through outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to turn data into information that helps drive decisions
  • Expertise in data analytics
  • Expertise in mining data for insights for product and process improvement opportunities
  • Highly skilled in data modeling, leveraging analytical languages and tools
  • Intermediate-level visualization skills and experience with relevant tools (e.g. Power BI, and/or Tableau).
  • Hands on experience with database and reporting technologies
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC and SAP Business Warehouse. Data Modeling experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data lake ecosystems is preferred.

University degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Science, IT, Supply chain)

7 + years relevant experience in OTC/Cosmetics R&D, Supply Chain or Value Chain in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, Food or Pharma.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $113,500 to $195,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
