Kamehameha Schools is currently looking for a Director, Enterprise Information Hub to lead a team focused on improving enterprise data within KS.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following expertise:

  • Extensive Manager or Director level leadership experience. With a leadership style that is open minded, and willing to listen and guide.
  • Extensive Data Analysis, Regulatory & Governance experience.
  • A technical background that includes database/data warehouse integration & architecture and strategy development.
  • A relationship builder to be able to partner with other areas within KS and foster collaboration.

This position is based out of our Kawaiaha'o Plaza location.

Job Summary
The Director, Enterprise Information Hub (EIH) is responsible to foster value creation by means of the organization’s data assets and external data ecosystem. Develop data-enabled strategies, enable business outcomes through analytics, and create value through data exploitation. Establish data and analytics governance and enterprise information policy. Responsible for aligning data policy and administration with relevant regulatory, legal and ethical mandates.

Essential Responsibilities

Data Analytics and Strategy

  • Responsible and accountable for exploiting the value of enterprise information assets, and of the analytics used to render insights for decision making, automated decisions and augmentation of human performance.
  • Define data and analytics strategy practices, participates in the creation (and assure the ongoing relevance) of KS’s data and analytics strategy in collaboration with the EIMA Senior Director and other executives/directors.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of the enterprise’s data and analytics platform for digital business.
  • Lead research, strategy creation and development of new data products or services
  • Expand the organization’s research and analytics offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches, skills and technologies, focusing them on digital business innovation.
  • Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the enterprise.
  • Identify new kinds, types and sources of data to enable business innovation throughout the organization.
  • Create and oversee a centralized service for sourcing external data to ensure quality, traceability, timeliness, usability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Define processes for the effective, integrated introduction of new data.

Regulatory and Governance

  • Develop and maintain controls on data quality, interoperability and sources to effectively manage the corporate risk associated with the use of data and analytics.
  • Participate in the following governance domains: business strategy and planning, management and financial reporting, enterprise architecture, IT strategy and planning, risk and compliance, and marketing strategy and planning.
  • Define, manage and ensure an adequate information trust model, controls for master data and metadata management, including reference data.
  • Ensure that business reports derived from controlled data are consistent and representative of the true state of the business.
  • Measure master data and reference data for compliance to policy, standards and conceptual models. Assure the deployment and management of data quality monitoring practices.
  • Ensure the timely execution of independent audits, as appropriate.

Management and Operations

  • Organize and lead a data and analytics center of excellence, and constantly improve the organization’s capacity to develop insights with advanced analytics. Define members’ responsibilities and accountabilities for both.
  • Oversee the integration and staging of data, and the development and maintenance of the data lakes, data warehouse and data marts, for use by analysts throughout the organization.

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.

  • Master’s Degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or a related field.
  • 10+ years IT experience.
  • 7 years of senior manager or director level experience.
  • Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards.
  • Good verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Good organizational skills required to coordinate numerous activities.
  • Strong managerial, leadership, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with both students, faculty, staff and parents.
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at a senior level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in new endeavors and delivering solutions.
  • Ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options, and translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT and quant stakeholders.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, and policy development and maintenance.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with education/business information generation and analysis methods.
  • Ability to effectively drive business, culture and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
  • Gravitas to develop a framework for information and analytics governance, as well as to sell and embed it in all levels of the business.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists. Ability to “sell” ideas and processes internally at all levels, including the board and investors.
  • Proven record of effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, build teams and consensus, get things done through others not directly under his/her supervision, and work ethically and with integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hawaiian Culture Based Education.
  • Knowledge of KS Organization ‘s internal processes and procedures.
