Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Dietary manager or the cook on duty, performs general duties in the preparation and serving of daily meals. Maintaining a clean working and eating environment.

Duties:

• Assist cook in the prep and serving of meals.
• Prep coffee, salads, desserts and hot/cold food items as directed.
• Assist with meal service and the delivery of plates to the resident tables.
• Inventory stocking and storage organization.
• Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to keep kitchen area and equipment sanitized and sterile.
• Dishwashing
• Emptying of waste containers.
• Attend staff and in-service meetings.
• Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

• Ability to follow oral and written communications.
• Ability to stand for long periods and stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must demonstrate an understanding and an ability to work with the elderly.
• Experience with institutional food preparation desired.
• Be willing to be cross trained and function into other work areas of nutrition services.
