Job Description
GDIT's DOJ/OJP team is looking for a dynamic and experienced Pega DevOps Engineer to build and maintain the CI/CD pipeline for our client's Configuration Management Center of Excellence. As a Pega DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for working closely with Federal leadership to define, implement and maintain a pipeline in a way that ensures reliable and efficient deployments of infrastructure and software while ensuring quality and change control standards are followed.
Job Requirements:
- Develops and maintains DevOps tools and processes to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed software and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
- Performs code merges and deployments using the Pega Deployment Manager.
- Designs, develops, automates, and maintains tools using an automate-first mindset to improve quality and repeatability of software and infrastructure configuration development and deployment.
- Will develop standards for enterprise-wide use.
- Works with team to identify an resolve merge conflicts an deployment issues
- Perform system administration tasks, including system health checks, and post deployment tasks
- Will train software developers and system administrators in the use of pipeline tools and the implementation of quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment
- Significant experience across diverse technology stack including COTS and custom software
- Expertise in Agile development approaches including Scrum and Kanban
- Passion for quality and solving problems in complex computing environments.
- Detailed knowledge of git based SCM platforms (i.e. Azure DevOps or Atlassian Bitbucket)
- Detailed knowledge of modern IT automation platforms (i.e. Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef)
- Detailed knowledge of modern software build platforms (i.e. Jenkins, Azure DevOps, AWS Code Pipeline)
- Detailed understanding of AWS offerings including, but not limited to, CloudFormation, Lambda, SNS, Code Commit
- Understanding of complete build pipeline and the ability to assist technical teams in consumption
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of experience
- 5+ years working with teams in an Agile development environment
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Pega environments and setting up CI/CD pipeline using Pega or similar development tools.
Contract Requirements
- This contract requires US citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOJ/OJP Public Trust clearance
