OFFICE OF THE TOWN ATTORNEY
Position: Deputy Town Attorney (Full Time)
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
Experience Level: 3-5 years as an attorney in the area described below.
The Town of North Hempstead Office of the Town Attorney seeks an attorney admitted to practice law in the State of New York to represent the Town in a wide range of litigation matters. The attorney would be assigned to handle various litigation matters, including the following:
- Personal Injury Claims
- Property Damage Claims
- Collection Matters
- No-Fault Matters
- Workers Compensation Matters
- Article 78 Proceedings
The successful candidate would be responsible for file from start to finish, beginning with the processing of “Notice of Claims” up to and including trials and appeals. The successful candidate may also be asked to assist in the prosecution of violations of the Town Code.
Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of litigation experience. Insurance defense experience preferred. Knowledge of the Town and municipal law is a plus.
