Missouri Highlands Health Care is seeking a Dental Assistant for our Mobile Unit based out of Ellington, MO. The Mobile Unit will travel to the surrounding schools through out the year.

Dental Assistants perform a number of duties in a dentist's office. Some tasks may be clerical. Dental assistants with office duties schedule appointments, keep records, receive payments from patients, and order supplies. When patients come to the office, dental assistants locate their medical records for the dentist's use.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Prepare patients for the dentist's examination.

B. Perform chair-side duties, such as handing the dentist the proper materials and tools.

C. Operate the suction hose that keeps the patient's mouth dry so the dentist can work on it.

D. Operate X-ray machines.

E. Make an impression of a patient's mouth or teeth.

F. Sterilize instruments, develop X-rays, and mix compounds for cleaning or filling teeth.

G. Perform other duties as assigned.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Dental assistants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

B. Prefer one (1) year experience as a dental assistant.

C. Good computer skills including the use of word processing and e-mail software.

D. Good oral and verbal communication skills.

E. Good organizational and self-motivation skills.

F. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

G. Ability to motivate and educate patients.

H. Maintain a professional appearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.95 - $20.00 per hour
