Quincy University seeks a confident, dynamic, student-centered individual prepared to lead and develop a vibrant team of engaged recruitment staff. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, and serving as a senior leader in the enrollment division, the Dean will oversee a team of nine professionals and provide leadership in all facets of the solicitation, selection and recruitment of prospective students. The Dean of Admission will manage, the daily operation of the office and will assist in planning and implementing student recruitment strategies to help Quincy University achieve enrollment goals, assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising specific admissions programs and projects, and represent the University to college counselors, prospective students and their families.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes of the Successful Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in the liberal arts; as well as a minimum of five years of experience in admission. In addition, the following job-related qualifications represent the knowledge, skills, and attributes an individual needs to possess:

Ability to build and sustain key relationships with staff, students, and off campus contacts and stakeholders
A strong knowledge of best practices and ability to generate new ideas in student recruitment and retention; an ability to foster a culture of excellence while appropriately leveraging data and sharing information within the Office of Admissions.
Demonstrated success in creating, building, and evaluating innovative and creative recruitment strategies and admission programs to anticipate and reflect the evolving marketplace and respond to the changing needs of students and families.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to set priorities and keep to deadlines.
Strong regard for the broad-based, liberal arts mission of the University and capacity to provide compelling evidence of its success to prospective students.
An understanding of and ability to work with various databases (Jenzabar and JRM preferred) and an interest in leveraging technology to increase efficiency, communication, and access to data and meet the needs and expectations of prospective students and their families.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of nine professional staff members, developing their skills individually and as a group to meet the recruitment needs of Quincy University.
Provide training and cross training, as well as professional development, to the admission staff; evaluate the team’s performance and serve as an advocate, resource, and mentor to inspire and support the growth and development of staff, retain strong individuals, and capitalize on the skills and abilities within the team.
Train and guide the admission staff in best practices in data collection, management, and analysis to support decision making.
Foster a culture of positivity, professionalism, and collaboration among the staff, developing staff knowledge and enthusiasm for Quincy University and its community.
Interpret educational policy and institutional mission of the University to perpetuate its intellectual quality.
Partner with the Vice President and other enrollment leadership staff to develop and implement annual and long-term recruitment and yield plans to achieve the University’s enrollment goals.
Provide clear and concise expectations for recruitment staff as admission practices evolve.
Implement innovative recruitment and yield initiatives which acknowledge the evolving needs and interests of students and reflect an authentic representation of Quincy University.
Manage special projects and work to develop new and creative programs to enhance prospect development.
Oversee initiatives to maintain and foster the academic quality of the enrolling student body, enhance diversity among incoming students, and build international enrollments through a variety of recruitment activities.
Collaborate with varied constituencies to support the University’s goal to effectively recruit students from traditionally underrepresented populations.
Develop relationships and serve as a liaison with associates, the Vice President and other campus constituencies, meeting on a regular basis to assist in planning and implementing student recruitment strategies and foster relationships of trust within the community to support student recruitment.
Interact with current students, faculty, administrators, alumni and the public to develop and coordinate on and off campus support programs.
Provide information and counseling to prospective students, parents, counselors, and other interested parties by interviews, group presentations, school visits, receptions, and application follow-up.
As a working Dean, manage a small domestic recruitment territory and review applications individually and in committee, recommend candidates for admission.
Represent the college in traditional recruitment travel, fostering the interest and knowledge among prospective students and their families and, represent the college nationally fostering the reputation and awareness of Quincy University.
Oversee the application review process as well as review applications individually and in committee, recommend candidates for admission.
Prepare statistical and area reports for the Admissions Committee including appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Participate in professional admissions associations both regionally and nationally.
Cultivate a strong sense of community by building bridges, serving on committees, and participating in campus events.
Enhance the strong working relationship with the Office of Student Financial Services to execute financial aid leveraging strategies, to increase communication and efficiency, and share information regarding costs, aid, and process with prospective students and their families.
Partner with the University’s marketing staff on marketing communications strategy that will reach, influence, and compel prospective students and their families to consider Quincy University, including direct mail and email campaigns, print publications, digital strategy, and the website.
Collaborate with the Vice President to lead the admissions team in evaluating, implementing, and leveraging technology to innovate, increase operational efficiency, and meet the expectations of students and families.
