As the Assistant Manager you will act as a member of an inter-disciplinary team of professionals to assess and develop pre-vocational, vocational and day habilitation programs for the I/DD individuals being served in the program. These programs will be person centered, individualized and focused on developing an environment of success for each individual to reach their highest level of competency with respect to working in the community or in a self-directed business setting. This will include but not be limited to social skills training, pre-employment training, pre-vocational and vocational training, environmental safety, volunteering, personal hygiene, community inclusion, business etiquette and so much more.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Oversight of the day to day operations of the program.

· Fiscal management, purchasing and budget management.

· Resourcing Community Opportunities

· Supervising and mentoring staff working in the program.

· Provide the individual skill training, as identified in Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Areas may include, but are not limited to: Personal Hygiene, Clothing Care, Transportation, Medication Administration, Money Management, Recreation, Community Inclusion, Meal Planning and Preparation, Social Skills, Communication, Personal Safety

· Assist individuals who wish to participate in community activities.

· Communicate effectively with the individual’s family members.

· Provide a safe and therapeutic environment and promote self-advocacy.

· Assist with medical appointments.

· Administer prescribed medications and/or first aid.

· Participate in scheduled support team meetings.

· Assist in developing ISP strategies and complete daily activity logs and behavioral data.

· Attend agency in-service training.

· Participate in the consumer's interdisciplinary team meeting.

· Perform skill assessments and assist in the preparation of training programs and materials.

· Cooperate with the Agency and Department staff in any inspection or investigation.

· Provide transportation in agency vehicles.

· Performs any other duties as requested by the Company

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to perform the essential job functions.

Pushing/Pulling/Carrying up to 50 pounds. Heavy Lifting/Transferring

A valid driver’s license

Experience working with individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Experience developing and/or implementing curriculum in a day habilitation setting.

The successful completion of training to dispense medications to consumers will be required if the assigned.

Degree in human services field (preferred)

Management (1 year experience preferred)

Day program (1 year experience required)

Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Pre-Hire Screening: If traveling into the community, must have reliable automobile, current Motor Vehicle license in the State of New Jersey, and auto insurance.
